    How Now

Brown Cow. Don’t touch that wire. Funny thing about Daylight Savings Time.. its dark when I leave work – or at least, almost dark. This makes taking pictures a bit of a challenge. I happened to stop for the cows this morning, not realizing post-work-photos will be tougher to come by. Of course, sometimes they…

    Dinner in Jail

Dined at “Clink” in the Liberty Hotel on Saturday with the Solars. The building was formerly a prison, now turned swanky hotel. View is from “the Catwalk”.

Harvard’s Sanders Theatre is a very cool place.

  • The (Snowman) Scream

    The (Snowman) Scream

A little ‘out there’ – but this snowman reminds me of Edvard Munch’s “Scream” painting.. despite his lack of color, and expression. Which actually defeats the purpose of this comparison since Munch was an expressionist. Oh well.

  • Blinding Sunrise

    Blinding Sunrise

For some reason the sun was utterly blinding during the whole commute this morning. It was  a very strange phenomenon. I took a picture to inadequately show the effect.

    Steaming.. transfer station

The Lexington Transfer Station is quite steamy in the morning. Applied Orton-ish effect for.. I dunno. Its just not that pretty.

  • Smoke gets in your .. dining room

Smoke gets in your .. dining room

The fireplace was working overtime courtesy of ‘snowtober’ – power was out for about 2 days, so sitting by the fireplace was about as good as things got. Very light smoke floated through the house at one point (oops) – but was really cool in the sunlight. “Lomo-ish” effect added here. Oh, and yes, it…

    Looking back a few days

The very odd “snowtober” storm that hit 10/29 into 10/30 wreaked havoc in the Northeast.. and it certainly sped up the leaf-fall-rate for this tree – which I shot 5 days ago. I couldn’t get to the same spot easily since clumps of snow and leaves were raining down on me.. seemingly aiming for the…

  • French Press

    French Press

Latest score from Homegoods is a nice French Press for cheap. Takes a little more effort than the regular coffee maker, but it really is a more luxurious cup o’ joe – even with Trader Joes beans.

  • Ah, the Frost

    Ah, the Frost

Yeah, it took some premature snow to bring the first frost of the season (around here at least). Early frost always makes for some great photos.. and today was a great day for shooting.

  • First Snow of the “season”

    First Snow of the “season”

I don’t know what season we’re even talking about here, since there has yet to even be a frost. Nature didn’t care – it threw some snow at us, and is sending more on Saturday.

  • Potential Energy

    Potential Energy

Wikipedia says.. “Potential energy exists when a force acts upon an object that tends to restore it to a lower energy configuration” Assuming gravity counts as that force.. here we’ve got a pile.. err, many piles, of potential energy. And if the physics definition does not fit here (hard to say since those leaves weren’t…
